Dr Julien Billières (MD)  is a surgeon specialising in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal trauma, is an expert in knee surgery. He primarily focuses on ligament and meniscal injuries. He is particularly in charge of handling more complex cases, such as multiligament injuries or knee dislocations, as well as meniscal grafts. His expertise also includes cartilage surgery, lower limb realignment procedures, and prosthetic surgery.

He graduated from the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine, where he also obtained his medical doctorate. His training was completed at the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), and he earned his FMH specialist title in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal trauma in 2016.

He further specialized in knee surgery under internationally renowned surgeons. He worked under the supervision of Professor Menetrey at the HUG for a year, and then in 2016-2017, he completed a fellowship in Versailles with Dr. Philippe Beaufils and Dr. Nicolas Pujol’s team (a knee surgery reference center in Paris). Upon his return, he served for two and a half years as a senior clinician, independently managing knee pathologies within the Orthopedic and Sports Trauma Unit (UOTS).

Always aiming to refine his skills, he completed another fellowship in Lyon in 2020 with Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, a renowned surgeon who frequently treats professional athletes.

He joined the medical team at La Tour Hospital in 2020 and, together with Dr. med. Philippe Alves, co-founded the Knee Surgery Center in August 2020.

He is a member of and regularly participates in conferences organized by the French Society of Arthroscopy (SFA) and the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA).
